Big Five and Dark Triad personality traits as predictors of multicultural attitude and efficacy

Background The advances in communication and transportation facilities have accelerated the formation of multicultural societies worldwide. Personality traits may be one most important indicators adapting to environments. Educational environ-ments are terms composition students they serve. present study investigated predictive role Big Five Dark Triad personality on attitude efficacy (MAE) among teacher candidates. Participants procedure population comprised candidates (N = 404) studying Turkey. In order collect data, personali-ty Triad, Adjective Based Scale Dirty Dozen were used respectively. addition, data regarding MAE collected through Multicultural Efficacy Scale. Results results showed that openness new experience positively (β .16, p < .01) psychopathy negatively –.16, predicted attitude. On other hand, was only by .32, .001). Therefore, psychopathic can play an explaining multi-cultural efficacy. Also, there is no significant difference with regard candidates’ attitudes according their grade level. Conclusions Individuals experiences trait a positive towards multiculturalism, view themselves as competent get involved individuals negative multiculturalism.
