چکیده
Bacterial peroxidases are responsible for the reduction of hydrogen peroxide to water. Found in periplasm gram-negative bacteria, they one defense mechanisms against endogenous and exogenous stress under low oxygen tensions. Besides being involved detoxification, bacterial have been proposed constitute an alternative pathway respiratory chain anoxic conditions, as demonstrated E. coli that can use electron acceptor absence oxygen. c-type cytochromes with either two or three hemes bound polypeptide chain, divided into classical non-classical, respectively. Orthologous MauG enzymes share some structural, spectroscopic sequence similarities but distinct physiological roles (though most their function remains unknown). The kinetic data on reviewed both classes. Most require reductive activation consists structural changes so catalytic heme becomes accessible substrate. However, non-classical ready bind center is penta-coordinated, which also observed model. few studies report involvement from pathogenic bacteria biofilms, indication these might contribute infection mechanism thus drug targets.

The effect of the operating conditions (temperature, time, pH, enzyme level and pulp consistency) used in the enzymatic step of a XP (Cartazyme-hydrogen peroxide) sequence for bleaching Kraft pulp from bagasse on various properties of the resulting pulp and paper sheet products was studied. The quality of bagasse used, was examined by its yield, brightness, viscosity and the Kappa number. Finall...
متن کاملImprovement of Anaerobic Digestion of Sewage Sludge, Using Combined Hydrogen Peroxide and Thermal Pre-Treatment
The present study investigates the influence of individual and combined hydrogen peroxide and thermal pre-treatment of waste activated sludge on anaerobic digestion. For so doing, it employs anaerobic batch reactors in the mesophilic conditions. For comparison, soluble fractions of organic matter, biogas production, biochemical methane potential, removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD), and vol...
متن کاملThe role of hydrogen peroxide-producing and hydrogen peroxide-consuming peroxidases in the leaf apoplast of cowpea in manganese tolerance.
The apoplast is considered the leaf compartment decisive for manganese (Mn) toxicity and tolerance in cowpea (Vigna unguiculata). Particularly apoplastic peroxidases (PODs) were proposed to be key enzymes in Mn toxicity-induced processes. The presented work focuses on the characterization of the role of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-producing (NADH peroxidase) and H2O2-consuming peroxidase (guaiacol...

Thiol oxidation by plant peroxidases is an oxygen consuming process independent of hydrogen peroxide addition. The in vitro system consists of two interdependent reactions, i.e. hydrogen peroxide mediated oxidation of thiols via the...
