ACCIDENTAL DATURA POISONING IN A CHILD, A CASE REPORT FROM CENTRAL NEPAL

Datura stramonium is a common plant found all over Nepal. It contains alkaloids like atropine, hyoscyamine and scopolamine which can produce severe anti-cholinergic effects upon intoxication. mostly consumed during Mahashivaratri as means of recreation sacred blessing from lord Shiva. We would to present case accidental poisoning in children by consuming food mixed with D. Mahashivaratri. Careful history taking physical examination important for early diagnosis. Presence eye witness presentation hospital contributes favorable outcome. may be more beneficial if we become cautious follow safety measures while performing cultural rituals celebrating festivals. Also, need aware the possible fatal complications poisoning.
