Nutrient intake, digestibility and performance of Gaddi kids supplemented with tea seed or tea seed saponin extract
OBJECTIVE An experiment was conducted to determine the nutrient intake, digestibility, microbial protein synthesis, haemato-biochemical attributes, immune response and growth performance of Gaddi kids fed with oat fodder based basal diet supplemented with either tea seed or tea seed saponin (TSS) extract. METHODS Eighteen male kids, 7.03±0.16 months of age and 19.72±0.64 kg body weight, were ...
متن کاملA simple method for determining serum copper.
The determination of serum copper is of value in a number of metabolic studies, particularly in the investigation of the anemia of chronic infection. Presented here, together with illustrative data, is a method for determining copper in serum, based on the direct extraction of copper carbamate from serum with isoamyl alcohol. Burch et aa. in their method for serum iron have demonstrated that su...
متن کاملA Simple Method of Determining Pre-Diabetes
A simple formula for determining pre-diabetes (the very early stage of diabetes mellitus) was derived from the model of Ackerman et al. [Bull Math Biophys 1965; 27: s21-37] for very smoothly varying time course patterns of blood glucose level. The natural period of blood glucose level in a healthy subject calculated using the formula was in good agreement with the value obtained by computer work.
متن کاملA simple and rapid method for determining blood ammonia levels.
Blood ammonia levels in patients with various liver diseases were determined quantitatively by a simple and rapid method using the Amitest Meter System. The results were compared to those obtained by an enzymatic method and were well correlated. This simple Amitest is also useful in animal experiments, particularly when there is a need to determine blood ammonia levels serially. This paper test...
متن کاملA Simple Transformation Method in Skewness Reduction
Statistical analysis of non-normal data is usually more complicated than that for normaldistribution. In this paper, a simple root/power transformation technique developed by Niaki, et al [1]is extended to transform right and left skewed distributions to nearly normal. The value of theroot/power is explored such that the skewness of the transformed data becomes almost zero with anacceptable err...
