A Novel Hybrid Approach for Computing Electromagnetic Scattering from Objects with Honeycomb Structures

We propose in this paper a novel hybrid numerical modeling method for computing electromagnetic scattering from inhomogeneous targets containing honeycomb structures. In the proposed approach, whole structure is divided into inner and outer two subregions. Each thin wall of unit cell subregion replaced by zero-thickness surface, with aid resistive sheet boundary condition (RSBC) to describe electric magnetic field discontinuities across surface. homogenized using Hashin–Shtrikman Mori–Tanaka formulae. The subregions are further smaller subdomains introducing Robin-type transmission couple interfaces, as well subdomain interfaces. solution region then discretized solved nonconformal domain decomposition-based finite element–boundary integral–multilevel fast multipole algorithm (FE-BI-MLFMA). results demonstrate that approach exhibits high accuracy, efficiency, flexibility. Solutions wing-like object practical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) model radar-absorbing structures presented, showing superior performance algorithm.
