A Non-aqueous Capillary Electrophoresis for Determination of Eugenol in Cloves and Dental Preparations

Abstract A total non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis method was developed and applied for the first time quantification of eugenol in cloves dental preparations. The optimized conditions included a buffer consisting 150 mM sodium acetate 300 μL 1 M acetic acid methanol solution (30 mM), an voltage 25 kV, temperature °C wavelength 214 nm. determining characterized by following parameters: detection within 1.97 min, good linearity ( R 2 = 0.9989–0.9999), limit at level from 0.19 to 0.35 µg mL −1 , very extraction yield 99.6–100.6% both standard solutions, clove buds’ matrix, Limit quantitation 0.81 0.98 . is based on one-step procedure. Moreover, does not require use any solubility enhancers such as SDS.
