چکیده

This study assesses the methane production potential for Anaerobic Digestion of Pig Slurry, using two different Substrate to Inoculum Ratios, 0.65, and 1, its comparison with theoretical prediction. The Specific Biogas Production, Methane average content were determined both experiments adjusted Standard Temperature (273.15 K) Pressure (1 atm). results reached in this show that experience conducted a SIR 1 produced more volume biogas, higher than one lower SIR. With 1.0, it was achieved SMP 0.568 NL CH4/g VS an 83%. Technical Time found be 12 days. By comparing experimental BMP estimated value 0.623 VS, possible conclude presented deviation just 2.96 % during assay 1.

Ammonia, methane, and nitrous oxide emission from pig slurry applied to a pasture in New Zealand.

Much animal manure is being applied to small land areas close to animal confinements, resulting in environmental degradation. This paper reports a study on the emissions of ammonia (NH3), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O) from a pasture during a 90-d period after pig slurry application (60 m3 ha-1) to the soil surface. The pig slurry contained 6.1 kg total N m-3, 4.2 kg of total ammoniacal...

Effects of Acidifying Pig Diets on Emissions of Ammonia, Methane, and Sulfur from Slurry during Storage.

Ammonia (NH) volatilization from intensive livestock production is a threat to natural ecosystems. This study investigated pig diet manipulation by 1% (w/w) benzoic acid (BA) amendment and lowering of dietary electrolyte balance through substituting 1.4% (w/w) CaCO with 2.0% (w/w) CaCl. Urine and feces were collected separately from 24 pigs fed one of four diets (Control, +BA, +CaCl, +BA+CaCl) ...

Estimation of Methane Emissions from Slurry Pits below Pig and Cattle Confinements

Quantifying in-house emissions of methane (CH4) from liquid manure (slurry) is difficult due to high background emissions from enteric processes, yet of great importance for correct estimation of CH4 emissions from manure management and effects of treatment technologies such as anaerobic digestion. In this study CH4 production rates were determined in 20 pig slurry and 11 cattle slurry samples ...

Influence of season, ventilation strategy, and slurry removal on methane emissions from pig houses

About 60% of the global methane emission is related to anthropogenic activities such as agriculture, fossil fuel use, and waste disposal. A significant part of agricultural methane emissions originates from pig husbandry, with indoor stored pig slurry as the main source. In general, the release of methane from indoor slurry storage can be influenced by availability of oxygen and volatile solids...

Biochemical methane potential and biodegradability of complex organic substrates.

The biomethane potential and biodegradability of an array of substrates with highly heterogeneous characteristics, including mono- and co-digestion samples with dairy manure, was determined using the biochemical methane potential (BMP) assay. In addition, the ability of two theoretical methods to estimate the biomethane potential of substrates and the influence of biodegradability was evaluated...
