A Bilevel Programming Framework for Joint Edge Resource Management and Pricing

The emerging edge computing (EC) paradigm promises to provide low latency and ubiquitous computation numerous mobile Internet of Things (IoT) devices at the network edge. How efficiently allocate geographically distributed heterogeneous resources a variety services is challenging task. While this problem has been studied extensively in recent years, most previous work largely ignored preferences when making resource allocation decisions. To end, article introduces novel bilevel optimization model, which explicitly takes service into consideration, study interaction between an EC platform multiple services. manages set nodes (ENs) acts as leader while are followers. Given placement pricing decisions leader, each decides how optimally divide its workload different ENs. proposed framework not only maximizes profit but also minimizes cost every service. When there single EN, we derive simple analytic solution for underlying problem. For general case with ENs services, present Karush–Kuhn–Tucker-based duality-based solution, combining series linearizations, solve Extensive numerical results shown illustrate efficacy model.
